Things to Make and Do

Sunday Stash #18

Even more beautiful Tony stash. Looking at these prints I really think spring can’t come soon enough, I can’t bear the gloomy sky any longer. And writing about spring reminds me that I have to finish the Spring Quilt top till Thursday, because I have the opportunity to buy the backing on Friday and until then, I really have to figure out how much I need. So how about you ladies, did spring arrive in you part of the world?

Even more fabric from my Tony Stash! The funny thing is, that these are actually some of Tonys favorite prints which is weird, because I really thought I would be getting a lots of robots and zombie fabric or at least more black stuff, but I guess deep down in his heart, he’s a girl. In a good way of course :)

Owls! Again! There are a lot of owls in my life lately, first the cute owl FQ from Staci, then the adorable crochet owl from Paloma and now even more owls from Tony. Aren’t they the cutest?! I actually don’t ever want to cut into them because they’re so adorable. But if I have to, I shall name them first, each and every single one. Yes I’m crazy, no wait, I guess the right word would be cuckoo in this case :)

Have I ever told you that I don’t really like Sundays? Sunday is the day I really start relaxing, but then there is this gloomy cloud of Monday and the thought of going back to work hanging over me. But not today, because I actually have Monday and Tuesday off, and that means: sewing time!!

First I want to finish my spring quilt blocks, and then I’ll turn this Japanese Gloomy Bear fabric I got from Tony, into a new MacBook sleeve. I’m thinking dark grey felt for the body, the bears for the flap and red lining. I’m not sure about the closure though, because I don’t want to use a magentic snap so close to my MacBook, and I’m not a fan of velcro. So maybe a snap button?

My late birthday presents arrived! I told Tony that I wanted some fabric and that it was up to him to chose it. I was really excited about it, because I had no idea what his taste in fabric was or what he thinks I would like. It could have gone really wrong, but now I can safely say: he’s a great fabric shopper! So yay for Tony, he’s a great catch and he’s all mine :D

Here’s the big stack of fabric I got (only one is still missing) and I’ll show you the single prints over the next few Sunday Stashes, starting today with Alexander Henry, Nicole’s Print, Midnight Snack.

Can you see the bag in this print? I sure do, together with a chocolate brown cord and a curved bottom, yum. I really should stop making bags, but I can’t. Maybe I should start a Bag Making Addicts Anonymous group, who’s in with me?
